16 Ton Studios is located in the heart of Music Row. It's one of the most unique studios in the city of Nashville. and was designed by world-famous acoustician Michael Cronin. It's one of the busiest studios in town, catering to artists ranging from Chris and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes to The Jordanaires, and a host of other award-winning international recording artists.
The control room (tuned by Bob Hodas, the world authority on control-room acoustics) is a comfortable space that wraps its sonics around the listener, providing a realistic picture of the song.
Beyond the great variety of instruments, mics and outboard gear available at 16 Ton, the studio's console is its centerpiece. The one-of-a-kind custom Dymaxion Tube console is the world’s largest tube-powered console. Known for its striking appearance and distinctive sound, it sets a new standard for 21st-century analog and digital recording performance.
